One common problem is when the back of the magazine hits the bottom of the ejector, pushing the magazine forward and potentially causing a "nose dive" condition. This can occur when the brass of the cartridge hits the underside of the nose of the ejector as the slide comes forward. In this case, it's important to check for any interference between the ejector and the magazine or the cartridge.

If you suspect that the ejector is causing your feeding issues, there are a few options you can try. One is to replace the ejector altogether. Alternatively, you can file down the underside of the ejector or mill a clearance in the base to ensure proper clearance. If you're building a gun or replacing the ejector, be on the lookout for any potential issues with the underbelly of the ejector hitting the brass that can cause nosediving.

feeding issues and you're ejector [Music] okay folks what we're going to do now is uh the next step in our feeding session and one of the things that you know a lot of people don't consider is the ejector and a lot of people say okay well how is the ejector causing me feeding issues okay well one thing i have noticed at times you know with with doing so many different services and ripping apart so many of these guns that once in a while you'll you'll come to a condition that when the magazine is inserted into the into the pistol you'll see where the the the back of the brass or the back of the magazine and i'll we'll also throw some other pictures in here show some examples um it's hitting the bottom of the ejector or the the mag may be hitting down in here that where the ejector meets the frame so what does that do well one it pushes your magazine forward and two when the slide comes forward it it's it's the brass sometimes of the cartridge is hitting the underside of the nose of the ejector which will cause a nose dive condition right away so when people get a nose dive condition and they're saying well i got to recondition the feed ramp i've seen guys you know dremel the feed ramp way forward and screw the screw the gun all up and what's happened is it's actually hitting hitting the underside of the ejector here and causing the nose dive condition now yeah there is a bunch of things that can cause a nosedive condition but this is kind of a freaky thing that you will come across once in a while where you know the bottom of the ejector um you know hits the mag or like i said the bottom of the the nose of the ejector is actually hitting the brass and it's something that you can easily see you know your line of sight just look down look down after you insert a magazine into the gun this this frame doesn't have a slide stop in it but i'm just giving you an example once you once you insert this in then go ahead and you know check for interferences up here with a piece of brass or dummy round or you can even use a regular it's not going to be able to fire in this condition so again that's just one thing to look for it's it's one of the items um that you will see come across once in a while now you can say to yourself well what am i going to do do i have to replace the ejector yeah you can replace the ejector if you wish that that's that's one option the other option is you can file back this this underneath section here a little bit and even the nose uh generally when i come across this i i i'll you know punch the pin out pull the ejector and i'll you know put on the milling machine and i'll just mill the little clearance in here so i make sure i have clearance proper clearance at the at the the base here the bottom if you want to call it front of the ejector so again this is one of those things that many people will never notice but it does come into play once in a while so again be on the lookout for the ejector um also you know again you're building a gun you replace an ejector or you're replacing ejector all of a sudden you're starting feed issues be suspicious of that that underbelly area here hitting your brass and that may be something that's causing your your nose dive effect so again i hope this helps you out in feeding and we'll have a few more here very shortly have a great day fusion firearms
